Word 2000 will not open

I cannot open Microsoft Word 2000. All of the other office programs open fine
but when I go to open word it just displays the product license inormation
box and freezes on that. I have all my final year university work in word,
any help would be very much appreciated!

Thank you, that page sounds like whats happening to my computer. Just one
quick question, how do i rename the normal.dot template because i canot seem
to find this anywhere and it sounds like this is what is corrupt. Sorry if
this is an obvious question!
