Word 2000 will not open

When Word selected it will not open. THe initial screen
with the Word 2000 logo comes up but the program never
opens. Whenver cntl+alt+del used it will eventually allow
one to close the screen with Word 2000 logo and proceed
with other programs. Somtimes, though, a DOS screen will
come up that says something to the effect that the
computer is dangerously low on resources do I want to
close X program.

I tried reloading WOrd from a disc and did not have
success.

It sounds like you may have saved your document as a
template. To investigate further, when you click "File"
and "Save As," does it want to save this document as a
Word Document or as a Template? If it says template, do
the following:

1) File
2) New
3) Click the template you want to use
4) Click ok
