Word 2000 Winword error

I have Word 2000 that I got with my computer and it
had been working fine. It came with Works Suite 2001
and I have Windows ME. When I try to open Word I get
" Winword has caused an error in Winword.exe.
Winword will now close." I have reinstalled Word and
Works Suite. I have also run the "repair" on Word but
no help. Anyone know of a fix?

and I was able to find an answer and fix my problem.
