Word 2000 won't open

when I try to open MS-Word the computer

locks up and has to be restarted. I have run Norton's AV
including getting the latest updates and the scan tells me >no viruses were found.
I have unitalled MS-Works Suite 2000 which includes MS-
Word, reinstalled it and run another scan and still no
luck - Word locks the computer. I have run a repair. When I do a CTRL+ALT+DEL
I get messages about the syetem being low on resources, I
have to wait for tasks to end etc. and end up having to
restart the computer. I cleared all taskbar programs so

that only the clock and symantec run when I start up.
Excel and other portions of Office run fine.

I read your message and am having the exact same
problem...Have you gotten any help or advise yet that
corrected the problem? I would appreciate you sharing
what you have learned...
