I have a new computer Dell Latitude D620 with WinXP Pro and I have migrated
from a Dell Latitude D600 with Win 2000. I reinstalled office 2000 from the
install CD and it worked but gave errors. I then went to Office update and
installed SR3. Now Word comes up in the task bar but won't show on the
desktop. If I just start Word without a document I need to use CTRL+ALT+DEL
to close it. If I try to display a document I can right click and close.
I tried uninstalling and reinstalling office with no improvement.
I tried renaming Normal.dot in docs and settings and deleting it in copies
with no effect.
Excel comes up with an Automation error Unspecified error but runs after that.
Access seems to work OK.
Outlook isn't installed but was before the reinstall attempt.
