Word 2000 won't start up

Hi all,

I'm having huge problems with Word 2000 on an XP computer
at work at the moment - it will not open without
immediately crashing with one of the "Microsoft Word has
encountered an error and needs to close" messages.
Further investigation of this gives the details:

"AppName: winword.exe AppVer: 9.0.0.3822 ModName:
winword.exe
ModVer: 9.0.0.3822 Offset: 00395c27"

I've tried removing and reinstalling Word, with no avail.
I can't use the online help function as Word does not
open for long enough to get the PID required by Microsoft
and with it being a work computer I have made no note of
it previously.

I had the same problem but this link contained the solution (I had a
network printer as my default).
