Word 2000/Word 2002 track changes

I received a Word 2002/Office xp Word document and I have
Word 2000/Office 2000. When I attempt to track
changes/Compare documents my pc hangs up....Are they
compatible or is anyone aware of issues?

In my experience, Word 2000 and Word 2002 file formats are
basically compatible. But there might be something about
that particular document with which Word 2000 is having
problems. Did another user already do any change tracking in
the document in a different version?
