word 2000, workssuite 2000

just got a new computer running Vista HP loaded word 2000 from my workssuite
2000 disks and every time I launch word i get the error message "missing
registry information is missing and the applicaion cannot run

I loaded money from the same disks and works ok

can you please help

Sounds like you installed Word 2000 while logged in to Vista under a
non-administrator account, or possibly whatever antivirus program is
installed on your computer blocked the Word 2000 setup program from
making necessary modifications to the Windows registry. Uninstall Word
2000, temporarily turn off your antivirus software, and then either:
a. Right-click on the Word 2000 setup file and choose to Run As
Administrator, or
b. Turn off User Account Control in Vista before you install Word 2000.
