I am using Word 2K in Windows 2K - I would like to insert
a number (that I can edit) in a circle inside a table

I am using Word 2K in Windows 2K - I would like to insert
a number (that I can edit) in a circle inside a table

I'd say you need the "Word Picture" command from
Tools/Customize/Commands, Drawing category. With this you
can use a Drawing circle and add text to it. Make sure the
result is formatted "in line with text" so that you can
insert it into the table.

In order to edit the number you double-click the picture to
go back into the Picture Editor.
