Word 2000

Could someone help me with my WORD program? A few days
ago my computer crashed showing the message 'Windows has
caused an error on spool ...' and I had to close down my
computer. On restarting I noticed that the 'File Edit
View etc' options had gone as had all the tool buttons.
I've tried running the WINWORD.EXE file directly from the
CD but the problem persists. Also removing and reloading
Office did not help. I think it must be Windows itself
that's doing something to WINWORD. Can anyone suggest
what I need to do?
