Is Word 2001 compatible with Mac OS X (10.3)? If so, should
I reinstall it under OSX, or just take it from "Classic"?

You have to run 2001 under Classic within OS X, so definitely don't try to
install it in OS X.

Office X is the first version that runs natively in OS X, Office 2004 is the
new version for OS X.
