Word 2001: "Registration could not be completed..."

Greets -

One user, when launching Word 2001 9.04 on an iMac G3/400 under OS
9.22, receives the following error message:

"Registration could not be completed because one or more required files
are damaged or missing."

I've reinstalled Office; I've followed the "More Information" section
of MS Article ID 272815 with regard to copying certain extensions to
the Office folder; I've done general disk maintenance; still I cannot
get the error to go away.

All suggestions appreciated...

Hi Delfino:

Download the Remove Office tool from the Microsoft/mac website, run it, then
re-install. The file that is damaged is one of the protected ones that a
re-install will not replace if if already exists on the disk. You need to
run Remove Office to get rid of the old one first.
