Word 2001 Spelling

Mikael Stern

Hi,

When I choose English spelling I get an error messenger;
Not enough memory, cannot find the spelling file or
something wrong with the encoding. I have tried English
and Swedish Word version both, installed the languages
from the value pack. Uninstalled and re-installed the
English files. The strange thing is that all other
languages works but when I choose English, I need to
restart the computer.
Word 2001, Mac OS 9.2.

Regards,
Mikael

If it really is a memory error, that's easy enough to fix: Navigate to the
Word application in the Finder, select it and Get Info (Command i). Go to
the Memory pane and raise Word's Preferred memory to 48000K (leave Minimum
memory alone).

If that doesn't help, please post back.

One little thing: it could be a good idea to check whether the Virtual
Memory is active. Under MacOS 9, there are very very few reasons why it
shouldn't be and most applications (including Office) greatly benefit
from it.
