Word 2002 and spanish characters

Can anyone tell me how to insert Spanish characters into a Word 2002 English
document?

Usually, you can insert those characters by typing Ctrl+accent followed by
the letter. For example, if I press Ctrl+',e, I get é. Ctrl+Shift+~,n
produces ñ. It works for non-Spanish characters, too. For example, pressing
Ctrl+`,e produces è, and Ctrl+Shift+6 (Ctrl+^),o yields ô.
