word 2002 closes after a moment

After opening word 2002 it closes and wants to send an
error report. I've sent the error report and have updated
word 2002. Still not working so I've tried the detect and
repair. Still not working. OS is 2000 Server with Terminal
Services running. Any suggestions??? Thanks, Donna

I have experienced the same problem for several days now
and have tried the following with no success:
- contacted DELL
- sent the error report to Microsoft
- uninstalled MS Office XP running on Windows 2000
Professional, and then reinstalled
- Installed and ran Windows XP Installer Cleanup Utility
- Reinstalled MS Office XP

I found on the MS web-site that they have information
regarding this issue and that a hot-fix is out there, but
have not been able to locate it to-date.
Any news regarding where to locate this hot-fix would be
greatly appreciated, as I'm sure more and more people are
going to start experiencing this same problem.

Deleted the data registry key and that seems to have been
the problem. Thanks

FWIW, a hotfix is never "out there." You have to initiate a support call to
Microsoft. If it is determined that you need the hotfix (and you are careful
not to ask about anything else), you will not be charged for the call.
