Word 2002 crashes when using scroll bar to scroll through document

S

Steve Turner

Original document was created in Word 2000
Everything works fine in using word 2000 and word 2003

I have tried 4 different computers running word 2002 (officexp) (one
was a clean install) and I have the same problem.

Document is 50 pages long. It contains several imported visio
drawings along with text. It is approx 8 meg in size.

If you use page up/down or use the wheel on the mouse to scroll
through the document it works fine. If you click on the scroll bar
below/above the scroll button it works fine.

If you click on the scoll button on the scroll bar and drag it down it
crashes when it gets to approx. page 18. I have deleted pages 16 to
20 and tried again and it still does it, so I would guess there is
nothing on those pages.

Error is "Microsoft Word has encountered a problem and needs to close.
We are sorry for the inconvenience."

Error Signature
AppName: winword.exe AppVer: 10.0.6612.0 ModName: mso.dll
Modver: 10.0.6626.0 Offset: 0001f252

Again, it works fine using word 2000 and word 2003, just not word 2002
(OfficeXP)

We are working around it by not dragging the scroll button, but if you
forget and by habit drag it, it crashes.

Any help would be appreciated.

above)
