Word 2002 crashes when writing a letter

I have been searching to an answer for this, but can't
find one, and hope someone here can help. When I'm typing
a letter in Word, it crashes and gives me the pop-up
window to send report to Microsoft. It happens the same
way everytime. I type the following:

Data
Address
Dear so-so,

and when I hit return, Word crashes. If I don't type the
salution and a comma, but start the body of the letter,
it's fine. And then I just edit in the saluation later.

Hope someone can help.
