Word 2002 crashing due to use of draw features

Im having a problem where Word crashes anytime I try and
use the features found on the Drawing toolbar.

Error signature:

AppName: winword.exe
AppVer: 10.0.5815.0
ModName: mso.dll
ModVer: 10.0.4219.0
Offset: 002b65cf

I have seen this error posted a few times before but have
not yet seen a solution to what is causing the problem.
The version is Word 2002 10.5815.4219 SP2 with all the
latest patches.

I have compared it to a working version of Word, with the
same version number and all of the same options chosen
but still happens. I have run a Detect & Repair to no
avail, and also opening Word in safe mode doesn't make
any difference.

Any suggestions? Thanks

For anyone who has this problem, it is solved by
UNCHECKING the "Automatically create drawing canvas when
inserting AutoShapes" which is under Tools|Options|General
