I often work with more than one document at a time. Switching back and
forth has never been a problem. However, for no apparent reason, the
process of switching has suddenly slowed down considerably. Document
size is not a factor. Small or large, going from one document to
another now brings up the hourglass for an annoying several seconds
before successfully switching. Even documents that I worked with last
week without difficulty now have the same delay. I have no clue why
this is suddenly happening. I have up-to-date virus protection and the
only newly installed program is Adobe Reader 6.0. Otherwise, both Word
and my computer are working normally, and since the computer is nearly
new, hard disk space has barely been used. Any ideas why I'm getting
the document-to-document delay? Thanks.
