Word 2002 document saving issue

Hello all, I am having trouble with one workstation on a
10/100 Ethernet network. There are 2 servers both W2k but
one is an Exchange server. The issue is; when the user
attempts to save a document that is being stored and
accessed from the fileserver through a mapped drive an
error occurs stating the connection to server cannot be
found. As a result the document is saved as a ~wrl file.
When diagnosing the error the mapped drive is working and
access can be established. Restoring the file works but
the user is extremely agitated. I have not had success
resolving this issue. I have checked the cabling and patch
cables, they pass and are CAT5 compliant. Any ideas?
Thanks
Kevin

Terry Farrell, who is currently hors de combat, is the expert on this, but
this sounds like the "SMB packet signing" error that he frequently writes
about. Have a look at "Client, Service, and Program Incompatibilities That
May Occur When You Modify Security Settings and User Rights Assignments" at
http://support.microsoft.com/?kbid=823659. It's all geek to me, but perhaps
you can make sense of it.
