wbodbc.wll is an add-in in Word's (or more likely the Office) Startup
folder. If you have no idea what application put it there, search for the
file and look at the Version tab (if any) of its Properties to get some
clue. You may find that it is an add-in you can easily do without, which
would solve the problem.

If it's something you need, set your macro security to Medium (Tools |
Options | Security) so that you will have the option to enable the macros.
You will also be given the option of "trusting" the company that distributed
the add-in. If you have "Trust all installed templates and add-ins" checked
on the Trusted Sources tab of T | M | S, you won't have a problem with
add-ins in Word's Startup folder; unfortunately, this trust does not extend
to the Office Startup folder.

Hi Bruce,
when opening word 2002 I get this msg

word cannot load this add-in program
c:\program files\...\startup\wbodbc.wll
A bit more information to add to Suzanne's reply:

This is an ADDIN that was created for Word 6.0/95. It
allowed one to use WordBasic to connect to database data
using ODBC.

Since the introduction of Word 97 and VBA, which is able to
use DAO, DAO+ODBCDirect and ADO, this is addin is no longer
required by Word in order to pull data from data sources.

It's possible that some template your company uses has old
macro code that is still using this addin. You may want to
check with your IT department.
