Word 2002: first opened, trying paste gets funny symbol, no paste

P

When I first open Word 2002, and try to paste a copied or cut section of
text, or an image, it gives a weird symbol, and does not paste anything. If
I go back to the source text or image, then copy or cut again, the second
time trying to paste finally works. I searched (several ways) for an article
about this problem, but no luck.

If you have MS Works installed, it clears the clipboard when starting Word.
Try uninstalling the Add-In, if this is your case.

I apologize for belatedly replying to you.

As you recommended,
I uninstalled MS Works (it came with the PC),
and you were RIGHT, that fixed it!

Thank you, so very much!

You don't have to uninstall Works, just the Microsoft Works Suite Add-in for
Word.
