I have a problem that appeared right after a power outage. I have a
dell Inspiron 8100 laptop with windows xp home and office xp 2002. I
installed word and it was working fine until the power flickered several
times and then went off for six hours. I did not lose anything since it
is a laptop and I have a battery, but now when I bring up word, it
starts to come up, brings up a blank document, but then after a few
moments I get a microsoft error message that says it needs to close down
word. It does this everytime and I can not seem to fix it. I even
removed it and reinstalled the program, but still it fails in the same
way. One thing I noticed though is that it no longer brings up the form
to register with microsoft for some reason. Could this be part of the
problem? Also, how do I completely remove office xp from my system so
that it I can load a clean version of office xp back onto my system and
not have it crash all the time.
