Word 2002 Forms: Referencing Form Value

L

Lukas Bradley

Hi all,

Once I have created a text form field, how can I reference the value entered
in other places. For example, I want to have a Title of the document
entered on the first page referenced within the header on all pages. When
the user changes the title, I want that header value to change.

Thanks for any and all help.

All text form fields have a built-in bookmark. By default it is Text1,
Text2, etc., but you can change them in the Form Field Options dialog. Where
you want the form data repeated, use Insert | Reference | Cross-reference.
Select Bookmark as the "Reference type," choose the appropriate bookmark
name, and choose "Bookmark text" in "Insert reference to." In the Form Field
Options dialog, check the box for "Calculate on exit" so that
cross-references will update automatically.
