Hi,
I have recently upgraded to Word 2003 and have been editing some
documents that were created in Word 2002. Generally speaking I have
found 2003 to be less reliable and significantly slower than 2002
whilst updating the screen..
I am using tracked changes and produced docs that are around 10-20
pages long with a few graphics and quite a lot of cross-referencing.
Whilst using Word 2002 I was able to share these docs with other Word
2002 users with no problems. However, since the upgrade (only of my
machine to do a pre-rollout test) the users of Word 2002 cannot now
load the documents - Word 2002 hangs and the processor occupancy shoots
up to 100% and stays there. This is reproducible with 3 of 5 of the
documents on multiple installations.
OS in all cases is Win XP Pro SP2.
Has anyone seen this behaviour before? Does anyone know of a fix?
Thanks,
Martin
