Word 2002 (Office XP) will not open templates

When I starta New document and click on "General Templates" to create a
document from a template, nothing happens. I am sure (or pretty sure) that in
the past, this opened my Templates folder.

If I try the option of opening a template from the MS website, that one
works. It's just my "general templates" that is located in the MS office
folder that's not working.

Any idea how to tell Word to go to the MS Office Templates folder?
