Word 2002 quits responding...

When i use word 2002, the program and the computer itself freezes up. I've
noticed that this happens while the page is scrolling, because there will
sometimes be colored vertical lines all across the page.

Hello Anne,
I tried Detect and Repair, but it didn't work. Also, I
tried unistall and re-install...same thing. How can I start WORD in safe
mode? Would Macros have anything to do with it freezing up like it does?
