word 2002 saving unchanged documents problem

hello, I am having an issue where using win 2000 with word 2002. when
i open a new document or an old one, no matter if i make a change to
the file or not, word asks me if i want to save the changes. this
happens even if i open word sit for a minute and then close it without
doing anything. i have norton up and running and its updated, and i
also have all the critical updates. the strange thing about this is if
i quickly open a word document and then close it, i am NOT asked to
save, but if i open any document and wait about 5-7 seconds and then
close it, i am asked to save.

any help would be wonderful

hello, I am using Microsoft office X word version 10. When i open a new
document or an old one, and then try to close it without making changes, or
after manually saving changes, Word asks me if i want to save the changes.

This started when I was having other odd behaviors. (when using PRINT to
save a pdf, the name of the doc would not show up - instead it would say
"Formatting Palette" AND every time I opened a doc it would warn me about
macros -- but I had not put any macors in my docs (they were all resumes and
did have links to a webpage in them. I turned off "warn about macros" to stop
that)
The close/save issue remains.

Any help??
