Word 2002 shuts down when saving

Sometimes when I click Ctrl-S to save a document while
I'm working on it, Word 2002 shuts down. Even though my
document is recovered, it's usually not the complete
document and I end up having to type some of it over.
This is very frustrating, as this is for my job and I get
paid by the line. Are there any fixes for this problem?

This has nothing to do with Microsoft but a third party add-in that is
