Word 2002 Slow

I'm having a problem with Word 2002 it is very very slow. When I load it the
splash screen comes up immediately then it takes minutes to get to the doc
screen. When I select a doc to be loaded it takes minutes to load. I tried
reinstalling Word results are the same. Please help.

Plug-in". This seems to cure the problem."
