Word 2002 sometimes crashes when I switch to another program and back to Word

When I switch from Word 2002 to another application, and then switch
back, sometimes this happens. I briefly see the document I tried to
switch to, and then all open word documents quickly disappear from the
taskbar (and are exited). When I go back in they are usually recovered.

It sort of describes the problem, except I'm not sure whether it only
happens when word is minimized. It might, but it is hard to reproduce
because the only thing I know is that when I switch back to word
sometimes it closes. It may be that it was minimized, but maybe not.
