We are using Windows 2k pro, Office Xp Standard and Hp
4000 laserjet printers.
I have had sever users ask me about this issue.

the issue is the user will be working in a document and
then when they print the document. All the text on the
docuemtn will shift to the left margine. It looks like if
you turned the page on it's side and all the text falls to
the margin or what would be the bottom of the page. If
they close the document and then reopen it's fine.

I have seen this a few times on seperate pc's and seperate
printers, on a Dell laserjet printer as well.

Thanks in advance for any help or advice you may be able
to offer.

Check with HP that you have the latest printer driver available, delete and
reinstall the printer and make sure it is set as the default windows
printer.

Thanks for the response.

Wish I could use the the latest print driver from HP.
However that presents more trouble. We are using word xp
and with the hp pcl 6 driver there are issues with center
justify. We have to use the MS PS hp 4000 drivers. Also
this has happened with the new dell 1500 laser jet as
well. So I'm not thinking it's the driver anyway. Nice
try. Next?

The HP PCL6 drivers seem to be more trouble than they are worth. We usually
recommend our customers to use the HPPCL5 drivers: they may make large
printer spools, but at least they don't have all those bugs!

I'm not positive but I think we tried the pcl 5 as well.
I will take your advice and see if the pcl 5 works.

Thanks again
Ed
