Word 2002 sp3 slow print with watermarks

After we installed sp3 on Office XP, on documents where any time of watermark
has been inserted by Format + Background + Printed Watermark, the page takes
over 5 minutes to print. We have updated the printer driver (we use HP
printers and use postscript - it is not an option to not use postscript).
The moment I take out the watermark, it prints fine. Any suggestions?

You could use the printer's watermark capability instead.

I did find that when we uncheck semitransparent it prints fine. Do you know
if there is a regfix or another type of setting we can use to keep it
permanently unchecked? Thanks for your help!
