Word 2002 speech recognition problem - XP home OS

I just installed speech recognition. It works in the
Office Assistant box, but not in Word. It seems as if
there is no response at all. in fact speech recognition
is working fine in this panel . But there is no response
of all including the blue bar or any other response when
I'm working in word 2002 . Any help you can give me would
be appreciated . Thank you
