Word 2002 Spell Checker

Hi,

I am having a problem with the spell checker in Word 2002,
although the settings are for English (UK) as the default,
spell checker is not catching those words which are
incorrectly spelt.

Word is not highlighting incorrectly spelt words, for me
to be able to insert into the dictionary, as in previous
versions.

Is this simply a flaw in the latest version, or is there a
work around out there somewhere.

Any help would be appreciated.

Susan,

Make sure that "Check spelling as you type" IS checked,
and that "Hide spelling errors in this document" is NOT
checked. These are options (check boxes) under Tools -
Options - Spelling & Grammer

Hi,

Check that the text is not flagged as "Do not check spelling or grammar".
