Word 2002 Start-up error message

G

Gary Hoffstetter

I've been using Office 97 for years and just replaced it with Office XP.
Everything is running ok, but whenever I start Word 2002, I get an error
message that needs to be cleared before going forward. The message reads:
"The Create Adobe PDF monitor cannot be found. Please reinstall Create
Adobe PDF." Did I miss something when I installed Office XP or can anyone
tell me how to eliminate that error message?

This message is coming from an Adobe add-in that does not work with Word
2002. I believe the culprit is named PDFMaker.dot, but check Word's Startup
folder or Tools | Templates and Add-ins to see what it might be. You can
just remove this from the Startup folder since it will not work anyway. If
you have Acrobat, you can still create PDFs by printing to Distiller.
