Word 2002 - Styles - DELETING THEM

R

Rod

My wife uses Word 2002 on a laptop, and is, what I would consider a VERY VERY
proficient user of it - she can certainly find her way around it! (She has
Word 2007 on a PC, hates it, won't use it, but that's another story...)

In a few particular documents she has recently created, no matter how she is
setting her Styles, and no matter what settings she is using within her
paragraph markers, the STYLE always resets and defaults to one using SimHei
as the font in size 15pt.

She will delete the style. When she creates and saves a new BLANK normal.dot
( a brand new template - something over the years she has done successfully
100's of times) using Arial, 11pt and then starts entering data it simply
resets to SimHei 15pt.

How can one PERMANENTLY delete a Style????

Well, to begin with, users can't "create" Normal.dot; only Word can do that,
and it's done by renaming or deleting the existing copy. I would suggest
that your wife check on what languages are enabled in Start | Programs |
Microsoft Office Tools | Microsoft Office XP Language Settings (path may not
be exact, but that will be the ballpark).
