Word 2002 templates, document preview

I have Word 2002 and copied my templates from Word 2000
into the "templates" folder; however, they do not show in
the box that comes up when I click templates in a
document.

#2: What happened to the window that allowed you to
preview documents before opening them?

1. You may have put them in the Templates folder reserved for Word's
installed templates. You must instead put them in the user templates folder
(or subfolders thereof). See "OFF2000: How Office 2000 Manages Templates [KB
240216]" at http://support.microsoft.com/?kbid=240216 (the same applies to
Word 2002).

2. If you want to preview docs before opening them, you must choose the
Preview view in the File Open dialog.
