Word 2002 - Watermarks and Pagination

I have a document that has a header and footer where the
footer contains the page number information. Prior to
adding a Watermark of any sort, the pagination is perfect,
paginating the pages 1 of 7 through 7 of 7. However,
after I add the watermark, the pagination begins with page
0 of 7 and never increments throughout the document. Has
anyone seen this behavior and if so do you know a
workaround?

You probably have a table in the header (see
http://www.mvps.org/word/FAQs/Numbering/PageNumber0.htm). The watermark is
undoubtedly anchored to a paragraph inside the table. Move the anchor to a
paragraph outside the table (by default Word will have inserted an empty one
after the table). Turn on display of nonprinting characters (see
http://www.mvps.org/word/FAQs/Formatting/NonPrintChars.htm) so you can see
what you're doing.
