Word 2002 will not print

Hi,
Word 2002 works well but will not print. Printer sounds and acts as if it is
printing but pages are blank or (sometimes) bear faint traces of text.
Printer working well with all other applications.
(HP deskjet 840c - OS = xp)
Any suggestions welcomed.
Thanks, ph

Did you check both your black and color ink cartridges? Occasionally
text that appears black is actually a dark blue and the color
cartridge will be used.

It sounds like they are either empty or the heads are clogged.

Hi Beth,
Many thanks for your reply. Yes, we checked the printer top to bottom and it
works fine with all other program (notepad/paint/explorer etc) - Word 2002 is
the only thing it refuses to print. I've tried uninstalling and reinstalling
Word 2002, but the problem persists.
Could the software (it's a genuine microsoft product) be faulty?
Baffled!
Thanks again, best wishes, ph

Hi again,
Just to inform: Having executed a system restore (To a date some two months
earlier) Word 2002 has started printing again. No explanation offered. Or
requested. Thanks for the helpful suggestions.
The service you provide is highly valued.
Best wishes, ph

I'm glad to hear the problem was resolved. I can't say suggesting you
check your ink was all that helpful. ;-)

It could have been caused by problem with your printer driver since a
system restore would roll the driver back. Should it happen again you
may want to try updating the printer driver first.
