Word 2002

Q

Strange things happen...

I have Word 2002 on a Toshiba laptop, connected to a router and from there
to the cable net.

I also access the printer through the main computer.

I have had many problems when I open Word, and one of them is that it keeps
creating new "Normal." files and telling me that a problem occurred and
asking me if I want to report to MS.

I have now discovered that this seems to happen (I don't know if only then)
when I am not connected to the router - and therefore to the printer.

Any ideas what the problem could be?

Word cannot function properly without a default printer installed locally.
Uninstall the network printer and install it locally, and you should be back
in business.

Hello Suzanne

Thank you for your message.

I guess this is like going to a greengrocer's looking for cotton wool...but
can you help through the procedure?

Will I be able to access remotely the printer after uninstalling the
network printer?

I understand what you mean but I am not sure on how to go about it and still
be able to print from the laptop through the router.
