Suddenly in the last few days linked objects in our word doc's no longer
update except on the machine that the file's exist. On that machine when we
bring up a doc with linked objects the objects update to reflect the
contents of that file with the object. On our other 3 pc's when we bring up
a doc with linked object it asks if we want to update & we say yes but the
object is not updated. HELP! TIA

I have barked my shins over this particular issue a few times. I can't
offer any solutions that I promise work, but I can suggest a few things
to try.

First, for *some* kinds of links, the full exact path is stored to the
linked object. So, the link is "busted" if the linked file is not in
the *exact* same directory name. If you had it in

C:\someDir\deeper\test\sample\working\wed\someExcel.xls

on the machine you made the link, then in *any* differently
named directory on the other machines, the link is busted.
Got to have the full complete path identical, all the sub-dirs,
the same drive letter, and the exact same file name.

Also, once a link is busted, it seems to *stay* busted.
At least, I never found a way to revive it. So you might
have to fetch a fresh copy of the Word file, with non
busted links. Then make the exact same dir on the
target machine. And only then try to update the data.
Or else re-link to the target file.
