Word 2002

I cannot open any word 200 or any word documents. When I
try to pen word by itself or through an attached file it
locks the computer up. I get a message that says I am
dangerously low on memory, to quit all other
applicatioins, however nothing else is in use, and I have
plenty of memory! Can you help me?
