Word 2002

When a document is created in Word 2000 with existing
headers and footers, and you try to delete the footers in
the same document in Word 2002 it doe not delete it. Is
there a problem with Word 2002 not being able to edit the
footer? I applied the SP2 for Office XP and it's still not
fixed.

The DELETE key does not remove the footer in Word 2002.
Only Word 2000 can delete the footer.

Please help if anyone knows the solution.

Yes, this is a bug in Word 2002. If a document/template has ever had a
header/footer (or if you have even opened the header/footer pane and touched
it--to change the style formatting, for example), there will be an empty
paragraph in the header/footer from then on.
