Word 2003 100% CPU

Word 2003, W2K+SP4, Athlon 1.8GHz with 1.5GB RAM.
Word shows 100% CPU utilization, even if its not doing a thing - ie,
blank new document.
The major culprits are Desk95.exe, WINWORD.EXE, taskmgr.exe and
explorer.exe. When I close Word, taskmgr.exe shows minimal CPU usage,
and the other tasks disappear.
Any suggestions?

Went on google and searched for desk95.exe. It mentions some
stuff about an ATI card and some conflicts. If you have an ATI
card in your machine you should maybe check on this.

Thanks for pointing me in the right direction. I do have an ATI card,
and the problem turns out to be intermittent, so I'll investigate further.
