Word 2003 and Word 2007

I have certified copies of both word2003 and word2007. I have used them
extensively and this morning when I attempted to open word2003, the screen
informed me that it was beginning to "install" to insert the disc and then it
opened the program with an error message. I now have difficulty because I
have authored an excel application that calls and opens word. Why is this
happening?

You have probably had an update and Word has reconfigured as a result. What
was the wording of the error message?

Word 2003 and 2007 share some registry entries and there will always be some
cross pollination. http://www.gmayor.com/Toolbars_in_word_2007.htm may help
you sort out which has priority.

It happens because both versions use some of the same registry entries, so
each one tries to "repair the damage" done by the other one.

You can prevent this battle by adding another registry entry. See

for instructions.
