Word 2003 and Word 97

My new desktop is running Word 2003 and my (employer
issue) laptop is running Word 1997. My contact management
software needs Word 2003 to operate correctly (ie sync)
between the desktop and the laptop. My employer will not
allow me to upgrade Word 97 to Word 2003. Both computers
are running XP.

Question: Is it possible to download Office 2003 on the
laptop and keep the current (employer) version of Office?

Perhaps you should ask this question in one of the "Word" newsgroup rather
than here. This newsgroup is for Microsoft Access, a database application
and not general computer access.

My guess is that if you have proper licenses, you can run different versions
of Word on the same OS as I run multiple versions of Access without
problems. However, it is better to confirm with people in the "Word"
newsgroups.

It is possible. I am running Office 97 and Office XP on both Windows
98SE and Windows 2000. Of course the 2000 box is far more stable. Just
install them in different directories.
