I'm having a strange problem. A while ago I was running Word 2002 with
Avery Wizard (the 2002 version). I upgraded to Word 2003. The 2002 version
of Avery worked fine with it. I should have left well enough alone.
I was on the Avery web site and saw that they had a 2003 version of the
Wizard. So I downloaded it, taking their advice I uninstalled the 2002
version. Rebooted and that's when the problem started. The Avery Wizard
was still showing up in Word. I'd like on it and it would open my computer.
I right clicked on an empty area of the toolbar and selected Customize. I
went down the list to where the Avery Wizard was....it was not checked, I
went ahead and clicked to delete it. It didn't do anything. I figured I'd
go ahead and install the 2003 Wizard and maybe it would just overwrite the
toolbar that was showing. Installed fine, opened Word and now have 2 Avery
Wizard's showing up. I clicked on both of them and My computer opened. I
decided to uninstall Avery, then ran a registry cleaner program I have,
rebooted and Word now showed just 1 Avery Wizard, it won't go away. I tried
to delete it again and nothing. So then I said ok fine, I also uninstalled
Word, ran the registry cleaner program again, rebooted, reinstalled Word and
can you guess? The Wizard was there still. So I said fine and re-installed
the 2003 Wizard and of course now back to 2 of them again and neither does a
thing. BUT, if I click on Avery Wizard in the Start Menu, it opens Word and
works just fine.
I would still like to fix the problem of 2 of them showing up in Word and
neither working. Any ideas?
