Word 2003 bug with "typing replaces selection" in comments

I find that if I select text in Comments, and then type, the typing does not
replace the text - it gets inserted at the cursor point. However, in the
body of the document, "typing replaces selection" works OK. Is this a known
bug with Word 2003?

If you are using the Reviewing Pane to modify the Comment then yes it
is a known issue. Well it's in their bug database at least - I'm not
sure if it is documented.

I'm not sure if or when it will be corrected. :-(
