Word 2003 - Cannot print - all jobs "spooling"

Vista and Office 2003, with all of the latest SPs and updates...

I can print from Excel, PDF, Web, all other applications without a problem.

But I cannot print from Word 2003, all jobs that I attempt to print just
spool.
No errors in the event logs, no error messages at all. When looking at the
printer one just sees "SPOOLING" under status. No matter how long one waits,
the job does not print.

Default settings in Word, printer & driver have been removed and reinstalled.

Anyone know why I cannot print from Word 2003? Any Ideas?

First step would be to check you have the latest driver version for your
printer that is acceptable to Vista. Word seems to be especially sensitive to
the printer driver combined with Vista.
Hope this helps

Thanks for you input, but this is a HP printer, popular model, and using
latest Vista print drivers....this WAS working, no changes were made on the
system. Worked one day, not the next.

Yep, thought it might be a HP. HP printers seem to be particularly flaky on
Vista with Word. When Vista came out this forum was full of HP printer
problems.
If you have checked and downloaded the latest driver (maybe do this anyway)
and the problem still occurs, then I dont know what to suggest.
Maybe another contributor may hop in here and have another suggestion.
Sorry for the lack of information.

Here is the FIX...

I called HP Tech Support even though I had the correct and latest driver for
the HP printer model and the Vista OS. We have other uses with the same
printer/OS that were NOT experiencing this problem.

HP Tech Support had me use a different HP printer driver, not the one for my
model of printer (HP Color LaserJet CM1312nfi MFP, PCL 6 driver) but the
driver for the HP Color LaserJet 5/5m PS printer. After I changed the driver,
I was able to print multiple page documents without the spooling issue.

Hope this helps someone in the future.

Glad you got this sorted.
Word - Vista - HP printers - odd combination
